This author's books are all predictable, which is why I read them when I need to lighten up my mood a bit. I am an atheist, but I read Christian fiction because I really hate sex scenes in books. I just skip over the preachy parts. It is more difficult to read regular romance and not be deluged with vivid descriptions of body parts. The characters are really cute. I bought the book when it came out but mislaid it so I bought the kindle version so I could always have access to the recipes inside. The spaghetti and meatballs are really fantastic.

Another one of my favorites. As I read, and reread, I can picture in my mind the Hallmark Movie with Mrs. Merkle played by the great Doris Roberts. In this Christmas season when things can be so hectic, it is wonderful to sit down and read something light-hearted and relaxing.
I love Debbie Macomber so of course I am a bit biased. Any friend of Shirley, Goodness and Mercy is a friend of mine. The story is a romance as is it is Christmas and Mrs. Miracle not only brings the best out in people but she cooks as well and gives us great quotes while she is doing it. I would say feel good book at Christmas, you can't go wrong with this one
Another uplifting Christmas story full of love and healing. Mrs. Miracles is Shirley, Goodness, and Mercy combined with Mary Poppins. Totally delightful.
Fun read filled with humor But my question ....did the creators of the movie read the book...they took the church characters out of tthe movie and made it take place in and around a school...spoiled some of the Characters and the circumstances...so don't think you can watch the movie and think it's the book...it's not.
I had already watched the movie (more than once). The book is so much more. Loved the quotes and am anxious to try out the receipes.
My Christmas gift to myself is always a Debbie Macomber book. It is the perfect time of year for angels and happy endings. I fell in love with Mrs. !Miracle and her quotes at the beginning of each chapter. The inclusion of recipes for the food mentioned in the story was a pleasant surprise -- several of which I will try.
I got this book because I wanted to see how close it was to the movie. I'm disappointed in the movie that it placed it in a school setting instead of the church setting as in the book. Why do they have to change the book story when making a movie? But, there is a lot more story in the book than in the movie. Definitely would recommend reading it.
